Food Culture

Even same language still has differences of the food or cultural with eating from different regions or area.


In the Yoga diet philosophy it so - called "Power law of the universe" - GOD:
From this concept forming the  yoga concept of  GOD - 
  • The joy (SATVIK),
  • Variation (TAMASIK)  
  • Lazy  (RAJASIK)
That is, the food energy as a classification of these three implied.

6 Taste:
This is the concept of the medical Ayurveda .Very similar to the Chinese which said that "WU-WEI " (or 5 Taste).Function is to stimulate the brain to make them tastethe appropriate secretion of digestive juice.




Ayurveda think the 6 taste not just about the sense or organ ,also affects emotional and psychological .That is because the heart need more sensory and the heart is the essence of craving sensory stimulation.
The Veda's classic mentioned that ; the body as like driving five horses to go to different directions and the reins of the hands is the heart. the senses will be constrained from your mind under control even such as the wild horses .




Sync with the seasonal food culture (Principle):

  • Spring : Light and little bitter taste of fresh ingredients.
  • Summer: Eating light.Have to balance the bitter sweet.(ex. Fruit)
  • Autumn:Warm food and oil content.like grain products,root vegetables or tuber to balance with a little beans.
  • Winter :Eat with heat of whole grains.For example, rice and Oil sufficient go with the right amount of spicy and hot soup.milk and Honey also good choice.
Other dietary recommendations from Veda medical(Reference):
  • Regular meals as much as possible.Or at less by hungry before eating.
  • Don't eat too full (7 to 8).
  • One-third of all solid food, water and gas to help digest food.
  • Do not eat snacks between meals.
  • Small oral intake and adequately chewing .
  • Body temperature as close as possible;do not eat too hot or too cold.
  • Eating happy no rush.
  • Concentrate not impatient.
  • Sit down to eat.
  • Quiet and clean environment.
  • Choose the meals are cooked good faith people with intellectual.
  • Fresh the SATVIK food is the preferred.
  • Do not eat RAJASIK food put too long and over-processed foods.
